As with any story, it began when everything in the entire world seemed impossible.
I had just graduated, closed a wonderful show (I act too!) , found out that my grandmother was sick, and moved into my first apartment in a fresh state and far away from home. I loved being single, and my friends are such amazing supports, but the bare truth was that I was on my own and expected to 'make something of myself,' degree in hand.
With all of the freedom of graduation comes the challenge of finding who you are and who you should be, and finally, at the end of year one, I'm finally feeling ready to continue on in hopes of figuring out what on earth I am doing here.
I work with the best little kids in the entire Pacific North West. I'm sure you say the same about the kiddos in your life. They teach me optimism and hope and let me realize that nothing is the end of the world. There is always a solution, always joy, and it is always worth it to continue on. Have you ever noticed that once a child is inspired they won't take no for an answer? That is the most influential thing in the world to me. Once they believe in their idea, or in the idea of a friend, that part of their imagination will come to fruition. Although it is often the most difficult part of my work day, I truly believe that this has taught me how to believe in yourself.
